Greetings,
11 pounds in one week is wonderful! It's always encouraging to watch the pounds melt away. But rapid weight loss is loaded with all kinds of possible pitfalls...here's a few "reality checks" to consider (others may have more to add).
...11 pounds minus the 3 you gained back, is a total weight loss of 8 pounds a week.
...losing 8 pounds a week as an average for ANY diet (natural or otherwise) is basically unheard of for those with a 'normal' amount to lose.
...if you set your sights to lose more than what your body can comfortably accomplish (about 2 1/2 pounds weekly), and then you don't lose that much, you can easily become disappointed and frustrated, ditching whatever plan you're using, and gaining it all back (which of course, is very unhealthy AND discouraging).
...While 2 1/2 pounds doesn't seem like that much, 2 1/2 pounds is a helluvaLOT! (imagine 2 1/2 pounds of butter hanging off your ear!!)
...if you make your diet too severe or drastic (no matter HOW healthy or natural it is), you'll probably end up with cravings you just can't control...and that can easily result in a total binge (which is also very unhealthy and extremely discouraging).
...it took you a LOT longer than a few weeks to gain the extra poundage you've got; don't expect your body to be able to lose it all in a few weeks - that's simply unrealistic.
...a couple of cups of coconut water or an extra serving of brown rice will NOT cause you gain substantial weight!
...if you lost 11 pounds in a week, you can be sure a LOT of it was fluid (and your body cleaning itself out because of your new food plan). Don't be discouraged when your body gains a few pounds back, after all, your body's just doing what it needs to do to keep itself hydrated and healthy.
...your body doesn't know what day and time you're going to be getting on the scale, and "judging it's success". Just because the scales don't do exactly what you think they should every single hour of every single day, doesn't mean you're not succeeding. Your body can stay the same weight while you're dieting for more than a week at a time, and then all of sudden it'll show up on the scale to prove it to you. :)
...every minute of every hour of every day you stick to your plan, you are succeeding!
It sounds to me like you're doing GREAT! Just don't let unrealistic expectations and disappointment throw you off course. You CAN win...You can WIN!
