Hi,
Eczema is a sign of a weak or out of balance immune system. This is the reason I constantly repeat addressing the immune system (the internal health) in my postings. Addressing your immune health is needed for all types of eczema. The internal health of your body plays a significant role on the external health of your skin. Some of the differences in the eczemas refer to region, isolated location or types of glands (oil glands vs. sweat glands) that are affected by the breakout.
It is the body that does the healing. What you need to do is to work with the natural chemistry of the body to promote that healing. Conventional medicines simply suppress the symptoms; and in turn don't address the reasons the symptoms manifest. When the body manifests a symptom, ailment, or disease, it is messaging the need for nutritional refueling (vitamins, minerals, protein); so that it can function in the way that it was created to work. The elidel, protopic, hydrocortisone and all other steroid/corticosteroid creams or medications aren't recognized by the body as nutrition; but rather as additional foreign invaders, due to their suppression of the immune system and their ingredient constitution of harsh chemicals. This is one of the reasons these types of medications produce a roller coaster ride of suppression and flareups. In other words, the relief is short term because they don't address the core root of the problem and produce harmful side effects. The vitamins, minerals, and proteins found in water and whole foods are the nourishment that the body craves for healing and for daily function. The human body is literally a smart machine. It knows (in its memory) the difference between a true vitamin/mineral compound and a synthetic copy.
Although we, as patients, may be crying out for a quick fix pill, the human body is crying out for proper nourishment. Soft drinks and junk foods/processed foods aren't proper nourishment. Although they may satisfy our hunger and thirsts, the organs and cells of the body aren't satisfied and shout out with symptoms to reflect their dissatisfaction. Over time this type of consistent improper nourishment (body fuel) will cause damage. Basically, it is the wrong fuel for the body. To use an automobile analogy, it is like putting diesel fuel in the unleaded gas tank of a car and wondering why your car keeps breaking down. Place the right fuel in that vehicle and the parts will function in the way they were created to function.
Beta carotene and zinc are the immune boosters for humans. Beta carotene converts the stored vitamin A from the liver for function throughout the body; in particular the lymphatic/immune system. Vitamin A enhances the infection fighting actions of white blood cells. Beta carotene sources are green vegetables (kale, mustard, collard, broccoli, spinach), carrots, squash, sweet potatoes, green/romaine lettuce and pink grapefruit. Food sources of zinc are barley, chicken, oysters, crab, beef, lamb, wheat, and turkey. Other nutritional needs that are deficient and need replenishing in eczema sufferers are the essential fatty acids (omega-3, omega-6, & GLA), quercetin, vitamin C and vitamin E. For a clear outlined view of the food sources for these nutrients, you can take a look at the wholehealthmd.com website for a reference. This would be located in the "healing eczema through what you eat" section.
Just like parasites infect animals, they also infect human beings. There are plenty of parasite cleanses formulated for humans that you can try. A member of this forum (Zenith) posted a message regarding a parasite cleanse called Tri-plex that you may want to give a try. You can read the message by 'zenith', located several postings down from yours, on this page.
Also be aware of the fact that Amalgam fillings (toxic metals) can promote eczema flareups as well. In addition, flouride (a toxin) can also produce eczema flareups. You may be surprised at the results you get from switching to a natural, flouride free toothpaste.
