Hello again,

In order to enjoy complete success in healing the body of eczema, you will need to cover all of your bases. In other words; you will need to address the internal (immune health), the external (skin care), and the foreign (identification and removal of the allergen/irritants). Being thorough in your posting, allows me the ability to see any weak spots that need addressing and help point me towards the identification of your allergen/irritants. In your case, several instigating factors stand out. They are stress (moving to boyfriend's parent's house, college courses/finances) and toxins in your new environment (airborne allergens from poor ventilation (mold/mildews), household cleansers, or hard water that's chemically treated with chlorine or flouride). I have a strong gut feeling about the water; but I could be wrong.

I want to address these four areas: cleansing (detox), diet/exercise, skin care, & removal of your allergen/irritants.

CLEANSING (DETOX) - Your eczema flareup is messaging to you that your body is very toxic; therefore, you are in need of a detox or internal cleansing. There are a variety of detox systems and methods of detoxing available on the market. I suggest that you choose a system that incorporates or includes a parasite cleanse. The system that I personally used and recommend is the 3-part internal cleanse system by Nature's Medicine. It contains a natural cleansing tea (Klenz tea), natural anti-parasitic capsules (Paranix), and a fiber rich detox powder (Internal Sweep). Even if you don't choose this method of detoxing, I highly recommend you take a look at their website (allnaturalcleanse.com) to gain insight and get a better understanding of the importance of detoxifying as well as the need for parasite removal. A recent posting by someone on this site also shared information regarding their eczema relief (healing) after doing a detox, which name escapes me right now; but I will get back to you on that. A Chinese Medicine herbal treatment for eczema incorporates a detox as part of its eczema treatment, called Ecdermaid. You may want to check this particular system out at merryclinic.com

DIET/EXERCISE - You definitely need to drink more water and eat more vegetables. In my first posting to you, I listed all of the vitamins and minerals that are necessary for supplementation into your diet to aide the body in the healing of eczema. For an easy to read (well outlined/informative) list of the foods that contain these valuable nutrients, I suggest you take a look (and use as a reference guide) at the wholehealthmd.com website. In particular, the "heal your eczema through what you eat section". They offer a nice list of recipes as well. Also, exercise is equally important to your immune and skin health. In addition, exercise serves as a stress reliever. Since stress produces cortisol, which promotes eczema flareups, you can see why this would be beneficial to you.

SKIN CARE - To view (in person) the many natural skin care options available, I suggest you take a visit to your local Whole Foods market. I think you'll be amazed (as I was) at the variety of skin care options available that you've probably never even heard of. I direct you towards natural skin care, because you want to provide your skin with the nourishment that it needs to heal, without complicating the healing process with the inclusion of harsh chemicals in the ingredient. Now, although the products are natural, you can still develope an allergen to an ingredient. Finding your right fit will be key. For moisturizing, I suggest the Borage Skin Therapy treatment by Shikai. In addition, I also recommend their Moisturizing bath and shower gel. The Burt's Bees bath milk and Baby Bee Buttermilk lotion is another option. I highly recommend the addition of the Burt's Bees Vitamin E bath oil to your bath, whether or not the bath milk or buttermilk lotion is your choice. (For example, your best fit may be to use the Shikai Moisturizing Bath and Shower gel & Borage Skin Therapy lotion, along with the Burt's Bees Vitamin E bath oil.) With any of the products, you will want to test a small area of the skin first, before applying to the whole body. Another moisturizer for your consideration is the Colloidal Oatmeal Skin Therapy lotion by Nature's Gate. Colloidal Oatmeal has natural anti-pruritic (anti-itch) properties.

REMOVING ALLERGEN/IRRITANTS - Other than exercising, another way of alleviating stress is through the soothing benefits of chamomile. You can add chamomile to your bath water, or you can opt to drink chamomile tea. Besides relieving stress, it can also serve to provide itch relief in its healing process. You can visit the traditionalmedicinals.com website to view their variety of herbal teas. You can also purchase their teas at Whole Foods market. To clean the air in the environment, changing the filters in the hvac (heating/air conditioning) unit should be done regularly (1/month). If there is lots of carpet in the house, regular vacuumings may be necessary as well. To deal with the water condition (especially if its flouride treated), you can purchase a filter head for the nozzle when you're showering. Speaking of flouride (a toxin), you may want to switch to a natural (flouride free) toothpaste. You can find these at Whole Foods market as well. Another airborne allergen that I hadn't considered is pet dander. Are there household pets in your new environment?

You did ask the question of the sun's role in eczema healing or breakout. One of the ways that vitamin D is transmitted into the body is from the sun by way of the skin. The sun, in moderation, is good for the skin; however the sun can serve as an eczema irritant for some eczema sufferers.

I've provided you with a lot of information. I don't expect you to go out and purchase everything I've suggested. What I wanted to do was to provide you with a comprehensive list of your options to lead you towards getting to the root of the problem; so that true healing can be obtained. My main goal is to end the cycle of suffering and provide you with a clear picture of how real the hope truly is. In a sentence, I wanted to address the message of the symptom so that healing could be obtained; as opposed to suppressing the symptoms, where the causal facts are ignored and the suffering remains.

p.s. Tri-plex was the name of the detox/ parasite cleanse that was mentioned by forum member, 'Zenith'. Take a look at the posting, approximately 7 main posts underneath yours.
