Hello,

First and foremost, trust your own instincts. The reason I say this especially to you is because the most intelligent observations and analysis came from your own words, "combination of stress, sleepless nights, poor diet, weak liver = lowered immune system. You've hit the nail right on the head as we say in America. Stress produces cortisol, which produces eczema flareups. The body heals during our hours of sleep and considering that you are suffering sleepless nights, the bodies normal healing process is being interfered with. The fuel that makes the body run properly are the vitamins, minerals, and protein found in a healthy Diet of water, fruit, vegetables, nuts, whole grains etc. If your body has been lacking in the fuel that makes it run properly, an imbalance can occur creating an abundance of bad bacteria which are overtaking the good and causing the disruption to your immune system. Add to all that, steroid medications, Antibiotics , and symptom suppressing medications which further instigate eczema flareups and you get the skin explosion that you are currently experiencing.

In addition, I have to make mention of one of my biggest regrets as a posting on this website is my mention of the Freederm HC cream as an option for those people who still insist on using hydrocortisone creams. Besides the fact that this is still a symptom suppressing cream (which means it doesn't get to the root of the problem to promote healing), the makers of this particular cream are deceptive in their practice. They have a website called eczemachat which claims to be for people to freely share their eczema success; however when I shared the advice that brought about my family's success, my postings were quickly erased due to the fact that they didn't promote their product. Occasionally, a mother or two would read my post before they were erased, take the advice and report their immediate success. Soon their postings were erased as well. If that website didn't advertise as a place for eczema sufferers to share freely successes or failures with eczema treatment, then I would have no complaint against this companies practices.

Remember that you want to treat the skin, not the eczema. A good skin care system (natural, vitamin and mineral enriched) will replenish the skin cells; which in turn will begin to do the work of healing. A visit to your local health store may help in this regard. To relieve the itch, you want to look for things that contain aloe, colloidal oatmeal, calendula, chammomile, or witch hazel to name a few. You may also want to focus your attention on natural medicines that are directed towards the relief of poison ivy in your search for itch relief. An allergic reaction to poison ivy is an eczema flareup as well; therefore, you wouldn't be totally off the mark to look in that direction. Adding vitamin e oil to your bath will also promote skin healing.

To address your immune health, you want to look to vegetables that contain beta carotene/vitamin A. They are your dark green vegetables (like, kale, mustard, collard, spinach or brocolli), carrots, squash, romaine or green lettuce, and sweet pototatoes. I caution against oversupplementing with vitamin A pills. You have to be careful with vitamin A due to the fact that an overdose of this particular supplement can also cause serious disease. The best way to intake the beta carotene/vitamin A is through good nutrition. Your magnesium, vitamin C, and B vitamin levels may also be in need of a tuneup due to your poor diet. Educating yourself on the foods that provide this nourishment naturally will be of great benefit as well. Implementation of the healthy Diet will definitely turn your immune health around and give you the healing results you desire.

My niece was healed of a severe (total body) eczema flareup in her infancy without the use of medication. We attacked the eczema in these three areas: internal, external, and foreign. We identified the allergen/irritant (foreign invader) and rid it from her environment. We used all natural skin care that worked with her skin to promote healing (external). For us, the skin care that brought about her success was the Burt's Bees Baby Bee Buttermilk lotion, buttermilk bath, almond oil for scalp, and their vitamin E bath oil. Thirdly, we addressed her immune health (internal) with good nutrition (in particular, a lot of green vegetables). My niece has been eczema free for five years now; despite the fact that there is no cure for eczema known by conventional medicine.

Antibiotics , steroids, and symptom suppressing medications actually promote further eczema flareups from the body. Your skin has proven that fact; therefore, please consider feeding the skin the nourishment that it needs in order to promote your skin's healing. Good nutrition and good skin care will help you in this regard. Identifying your allergen/irritant, it seems that the instigator for your flareup was hidden unsanitized in your hospital bedding. Considering that, I would also think about doing a cleanse as a means of flushing the parasite or bad bacteria from your body. My personal experience has been with the Internal Cleanse from Nature's Medicine. It's a 3 part system, consisting of the Internal Sweep (fiber & herb powder), Paranix ( parasite & larva killer) and the Klenz Tea (caffeine free, natural bowel regulator). You can check this system out at allnaturalcleanse.com

Suppressing the symptoms doesn't get to the root of the problem; and therefore, the problem is not addressed and the symptoms persist. It is the immune system that fights off disease. The medications that you've been given are suppressing your immune system; thus making it difficult for your body to defend itself. Your skin is crying for nourishment (vitamins, minerals, protein), not medication. Once it gets the nourishment it needs, balance is restored and the body can begin to heal.

I've recently come across a natural eczema cream and spray that is produced in Australia. I've forgotten the name; therefore I will have to get back to you on this.
