Hi everyone
I'm new to this site, I'm just starting to read BEDs book, feeling a bit overwhelmed at the moment with the diet restrictions but have decided to ease my way in to it....at the moment I am too weak to tolerate any major cleansing, I found both yours Kirt and Teresa comments very encourging and interesting especially the adrenal exhaustion which has been my situation since I had a total collapse 6 months ago..very very scary, I'm trying to negotiate low adrenals, low thyroid, leaky gut, candida, and food sensitivities and its like trying to walk a tight rope whilst juggling plates!!!!! I'm hopeing that the Beds program will help, I just wish this forum was more active, I feel I have much to learn and it would be good to have other peoples imput, although I can't particpate greatly as I find sitting at the computer too exhausting.
Has anyone heard of Xylitol? it is supposedly 100% natural sweetener made from birch bark, glycaemic index of 7. I dont use it very often, but its great in a Thai Curry (A no no on the BEDS!!!) or in dressings. Even Sugar free carob was an absolute no no for me resulting in me having a relapse, also I had gone back to eating bannanas another no no.
I'v been making Kefir for the family for quite some time now but I can't tolerate it at all it makes my symptoms much much worse, I'm going to have a go at making the cultured vegetables this week end and hopefully it turns out!!
Teresa I related so much to your post...what were the symptoms of 'electrolyte imbalances' and how did you rectify it?, and has your low thyroid improved on BEDs?
I had the most dreadful experience trying to take thyroid meds, but now I understand the adrenal issue more it makes sence.
Thanks so much for your posts I'v printed them out so that I can refere to them at a later date when I need some encouragement!!
Good health everyone Dawn.
