Hey, I'm an average weight girl and I've been doing this diet for a number of weeks. I've been meeting with a BED nutritionist from time to time and that's been quite helpful--you might want to make an appointment with someone to see if this is really a suitable diet for you.

I was extremely weak the first 3 weeks of the diet--I could hardly do any type of physical activity (usually I'm quite fit), so I'm guessing that the detox from the diet is way too much if you're doing physical labor every day for work.

In terms of maintaining your energy, you might look at blood type. I'm type O; my nutritionist recommended eating heavy protein (heavier than what's suggested in the book) at every meal, like organic, hormone- and antibiotic-free beef and lamb. Or try ground turkey and chicken. I'm allergic to eggs, but they're great if you're not sensitive to them. Also, use the oils: cook protein in coconut oil (which is healing for the gut--you'd probably have to order it online) and use cold-pressed oils on your vegetables. Also, try eating the almonds/sunflower and pumpkin seeds between meals. When I was really desperate, I got organic almond butter--I know nut butters aren't on the diet per se but it helped the extreme hunger. Also, eat the red skinned potatoes with butter, buckwheat and the other grains. They will help you feel full...finally, try mixing cod liver oil with your green drink....If you decide to go on the diet again, hope this helps.
