vinny, a couple things to ponder. nearly everyone who has an nde reports that God tells them that life is about the lessons of love and that love is the key that opens the mysteries of life. they are told to learn to forgive, to show compassion, to help others when possible, to be a caring and helpful person. now, why would satan tell people that? he wouldn't, it makes no sense.


7Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.

8He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. 1 John 4:7-8

this is how Jesus taught us to live, he said to treat others as you would have them treat you. i have read many many many nde accounts. over and over they are told this very thing - to treat others with kindness and respect and to go out of their way to help. so much of the bible is ignored and discarded by modern day christianity. they discard the simple teachings of Jesus in favor of high minded doctrines that divide and give them power. take matthew 25, for instance. i NEVER EVER hear this in church or from tv preachers, yet it was the crux of Christ's teaching. here Jesus talks about how we should feed the hungry, cloth the naked, visit those in prison etc. he says this is what is really important. that is exactly what those who have nde's are told.

personally i see no conflict between the essential teachings of Jesus and what those who have experienced nde's have reported. in fact i see nothing but harmony. church people are frightened by nde's because no one has an nde where God say, "oh and by the way the baptists (or the catholics or the lutherans or the buddhsits or whatevr) got it right and evryone else is wrong" and really thats what they are wanting to hear. they are threatened by nde's the same way the jewish religious establishment was threatened by the ministry of Jesus. but God is more interested in us learning how to love each other than in which church or religion we belong to.
