I would go on meds, then quit because I can't stand them. I was always getting sick. Finally I did the parasite cleanse and liver cleanse (Dr. Clarks theory) and ultimate cleanse, and was more strict about the zone diet (gave up Sugar and wheat) It's been over nine months with no meds. It feels great to breathe deeply and not cough or wheeze. I don't know if it was the diet or cleansing or both, but breathing is so fun.
