Hello again.
"
Thank you so much for taking the time to respond to all my questions.
"
You're welcome; my pleasure.
"
May I ask where you "practice"?
"
Please send me an email in this regard.
"
Seems like I'm headed for trouble if I dont start treating "something",
"
Seems like a fact, yes.
"
but your clues just leave me feeling more cautious and helpless.
"
I'm sorry not to be more specific. There are many variables involved.
However, being more cautious is a good thing.
"
I have been sitting on the fence for four years not doing much of anything to treat fungus or parasites for fear of making things worse which you too seem to think is a posibility. I dabeled with some treatments for fungi and parasites but when my symptoms would flare or if I lost weight I would stop for fear of making things worse and not being able to continue. For the most part I have concentrated on just eating the healthiest foods and getting into a good sleep schedule etc. I havent made much progress but at least Im sleeping better with the help of omega 6 fats and calcium.
"
Well, any progress is good. These things take time.
"
Heres the worst part, the worst of my symptoms happened after I gave birth to my daughter and right away she starting having the skin/scalp problems. Now shes four and has blood Sugar problems, peeling lips, plus the loose stools with undigested food.
"
It seems obvious that whatever's in you has been transmitted to your daughter.
"
I feel so bad that I have done this to her.
"
My guess is you had no control over it, so instead of feeling bad, wouldn't it be a better thing to feel aware and to do something about it so that your daughter won't have to live with the problem?
"
Can you please tell me what you would do in my case?
"
First of all I'd make it a 'full-time effort' to get rid of whatever's afflicting you and your daughter. Next, I'd try to evaluate the situation critically, by trying to identify the infections/infestations. I think that you need help with this problem, or else you need to study deeply enough as to have an acceptable level of understanding tha would allow you to take steps/make decisions on your own.
"
I have done many tests for parasites and even for candida but all have been negative.
"
The trouble with existing medical tests is their sensitivity, that means, how effective they are in yielding positive detections.
"
I had a Comprehensive Digestive Stool anylysis done from great smokies labs, my dr. really didnt know how to interpret it.
"
I've heard several complaints about great smokies labs and how they've failed to detect even "basic" infestations.
"
Maybe you know about this test and give me some insight on some of the things that showed off balance?
"
I'll take a look at it if you wish, and then I'll tell you what I think about it. Send me the results as an attachment or as text to the email, or post them here, if you wish.
"
What tests do you usually have your patients get?
"
This depends on the answers they supply during the consultation and on the symptoms they present. Usually I'll get a regular blood panel and then I'll take it from there.
In regard to visual analysis, I like to perform my own tests. This way I don't have to rely on the numbers from some machine or on someone else's ability [or even desire [or its lack?]] to find 'parasites'.
[I should say that most clinical stool tests rely on the demonstration of ova for their results. This means that if no ova are detected, then the test is branded 'negative' and you're reported ' parasite free', which is HARDLY the case.]
"
Can you say exactly what you mean when you say "my" factors", do you mean that its something that you personally dealt with or that you personally have seen within your practice?
"
When I first began, I started looking for "something", for anything that would give me a possible clue as to what was going on inside the body to make it sick like it was. During the process, I found many known organisms, most of them 'regulars' inside humans. So I found bacteria, parasites, fungi, "normal" pathogens at first.
But after a while I started to observe "something else", something I couldn't identify. Because I haven't identified these "things", I don't quite have a word for them. I found many reasons to suspect those "things" as possible 'factors' in some diseases. It seems like I may have been right. I've found them along parasites, along fungi and 'near' bacteria. As time has passed, I have observed the same [or very much similar] 'factors' in other patients with different other illnesses. This was puzzling for me. Because I first saw them in my own body I mentioned them to you as "my" factors lacking a better term.
"
Oleic acid/olive oil is actually the worse offender for me, worse that carbs. The problem with carbs is that it causes my blood Sugar to get low and after it gets low my skin starts exuding oil and the oil of my sebum seems to be high in oleic, unless I balance the fatty acids just right then this oil does not effect my facial/scalp rashes. Same for my daughter. Thank you for confirming this.
"
You're welcome. I believe that some posters are having a similar problem as well.
"
About the scalp and facial fungi, I have been to the derm who thought it was fungus and gave me topical antifungals and antifungal shampoo, these work to a certain extent but leave my skin raw and dry which in the end can cause the fungus to spread.
"
There isn't much to resolve without a systemic approach in your case, I would say.
"
I had cradle cap as an infant for the first two years of my life-as did my child.
"
Did your mom have it?
"
Once a dr. scraped some of my flakes to examine under a microscope but then said nothing was seen.
"
Hmm..
"
Otherwise no official cultures have been made. Sulfur antifungals and selenium type antifungals have helped me. Oral nystatin did not seem to help much.
"
I'm sure you didn't take nystatin for the facial/scalp "fungi", because as you know nystatin ISN'T absorbed systemically. In other words, oral nystatin doesn't work for skin AT ALL, as far as I know.
"
Garlic and coconut oil cause these weird itchy red bumps on my face that have no "head" that is typical of regular type acne.
"
Suspect protozoa.
"
May I ask what parasites and what fungi you grow in olive oil?
"
I have a couple dermatophytes here, which means several members of the group. A bit of Aspergillus, Candida and Fusarium. They all seem to like olive oil pretty much. [By the way, you want to stay away SPECIALLY from fusarium.]
I've grown a couple of roundworms not on olive oil alone, but I've 'bathed' them in olive oil and they seem quite fond of it.
"
Do you think I should I be trying to get rid of the "olive oil lovers" first?
"
I don't have enough specific information about your case to give you a useful opinion in this regard.
"
Thank you again so much for your thoughts, they are VERY much appreciated!
"
You're welcome.
I'm glad to help.
