Now there's a MILLION DOLLAR question. Well, a BILLION more likely.
"
my stool will be tested for parasites, and at the same time my stool will be tested for fat malabsorption so I will be eating a high fat diet for three days before the test and while Im collecting the stools (for three days). Now if I wanted to make sure that parasites show up (so that they can be identified) what would be the best way to do this?
"
According to present technology, by REPEATING the same tests ten or twenty times, in my opinion, and even then there's still a change of false negatives. And those aren't just random numbers. I'm sure many will agree.
However, the BEST way to demonstrate parasites -the ONLY way that I can trust- is by LIVE DIRECT microscopy. This means, by taking a sample of the stool, by mounting it directly AND LIVE and then by examining it carefully. I've never missed this way yet.
"
And will the high fat diet interfere with this?
"
Hmmm.. I don't see how it would (but that's a thought). Maybe it could interfere with a "flotation" technique? Can't be sure, but maybe it could, yes.
"
I feel jumping and kicking in my stomach or intestines at night and actually got the nerve up to tell my doctor-even though I probably get "labeled" in my charts now. Oh well..
"
Jumping and kicking isn't parasites 100% of the times, I'm sure, but they'd top my list.
