I get the feeling that there is some sort of agenda afoot...

looking over history and current events, I think it is relatively easy to influence people using propaganda via mass advertisement. I think that denying parasites has failed and now they (?) are trying to convince people that some parasites are harmless.

I think that groups of people like us who come together sharing valuable, successful cures over the internet can remain relatively safe.
