Hi Rosemary,

Thank you for your interest. I've considered the possiblility of lyme disease. I've looked into everything that can be considered zoonotic from pets. Although I've considered it to be lyme, I rationalized that it has a better chance of being some other type of parasite or bacteria. And the reason is that ticks are were not prevalent in the area (northern Canada) where we lived at the time. Also, the cat was stickly an indoor pet. My girlfriend did not allow it to free roam. It only stayed in the backyard under her supervision and we lived in the city, rather than the country. So, this is why I mostly ruled out lyme (ticks). Now, there was a pet dog that the owners had before we moved in that place. So, I'm thinking of the possibility of that dog leaving some parasites behind that may have got picked up by the cat. Also, my girlfriend frequently had tonsil infection quite often. And from what I understand can be from Strep or staph infection, which can be obtained from a pet. And she was particularly affectionate with the cat, allowing it to lick her face and mouth regularly. I've been trying to observe everything. I am thinking possibly toxoplama? A high percentage of cats have this, although it is mainly outdoor cats that have it due to feeding on rodents, mice etc. Anyways, thank you for your blessings. I too wish you all the best health.

Regards,
Ken
