Hi, I've been on the maker's diet for probably a year. Actually, my health had been on a downhill slide for several of the last years. I thought I was having a bad menopause. I didn't have a period for several of those years and gained an incredible amount of weight to my already overweight body. I couldn't tell where it was coming from because I wasn't doing the eating. My energy was so low and I could hardly get around the house, the extra weight not helping. I also had other health annoyances that went along with this. I started doing research and study and beginning with getting out all of the processed foods, changing over to healthy fats, getting in better quality of vegetables and just doing what needed to be done. My whole family began to lose weight but my extra weight didn't begin to drop. Eventually it started coming off when I added extra fats, eating more protein, and started buying supplements to add; Codliver oil, whole food multi-vitamins, etc. I lost 60 lbs. with constant scale movement, it has now slowed. My periods have returned(JOY!), and I get around better. This was with low-carb, more fat diet. I still hadn't even read Maker's Diet yet, information just from reading various books, internet newsletter reports, etc. Of course, you always get a variety of differing opinions. The measuring rod that I use to decide what is the right answer aand to not waste precious time, money, and progress with trial and error is Bible knowledge and what is logical. Did God provide it? Did Jesus eat it? What did the Law say? Is it something that is available to everyone or only to a select few at only a certain season in time? Also after reading Weston A Price information, it all began to fit. God makes provision the world over for the nutrients that we all need in one form or another. If you live inland, you don't have access to ocean fish, if you live in Alaska, you don't have access to grassfed prairie beef/buffalo, etc. But having said all of this lengthiness, I finally read the Maker's Diet and I can say it lines up with everything that I've come to believe and understand what is truth in what God has designed for us to eat and how to live. I can't find anything that I would disagree with. And my original intent to say about this is the acquiring of the book. I've bought several copies through Amazon.com and half.com. If you watch, there is a seller who will list this for $1.50 and of course you must add on for the shipping. These aren't used books either. He probably sells at a discount to help build traffic to his webside. He sells the Garden of Life product line and others cheaper than I've seen anyplace else. His seller name is enterprisesm. That should get you started in finding an affordable copy of the book. Hope the information I shared will help someone.
