For the past 3 weeks, I've been doing the following:

1) anti-fungal medicine (gaia-brand candida kit, which has Black-Walnut extract)
2) probiotics
3) vegan & candida diet: no animal products, no gluten, no SUGAR

During this time, I have not had ANY cravings whatsoever for booze. Before I started this anti-candida campaign, I was taking kudzu for a few months to deal with alcohol cravings as they arose. I decided to discontinue taking the kudzu when I switched over to this anti-candida plan.

As a result, the no-sugar, no-gluten foods are well-received by my body. I actually feel full after a normal portion, rather than the over-eating I used to do. My head stays amazingly clear after a meal, too. (I used to get a lot of brainfog before this lifestyle change, especially after meals.) Also, I've lost 12 lbs during the past 3 weeks. Any more of this, and I'll have to buy some new pants! Ha ha ha! Also, my sleep has been very sound, and I feel rested. Some friends of mine yesterday complimented me on how good I look and how alive I seem, compared to when they saw me a few weeks ago.

The hardest part of all this is maintaining the candida diet. There have been a few times where I found myself wanting something sweet. So far I've been able to resist those Sugar urges.

My main complaint is that the first 2 weeks of the no-sugar diet led me to be emotionally volatile: at times unexplainably angry & volatile, and a few other instances of feeling weepy. But for the past week, my mood was a lot more stable.

My conclusion: the candida caused or at least maintained my alcoholism. When the candida is kept in line, then the alcoholism goes away. Who needs AA, anyway! Yee-Haw!
