I've been reading this forum on and off for a couple of years now, and a few things are making me really confused. I would really appreciate any comments.

1. The various lists of "banned" foods seem illogical. I understand donuts or processed foods, but how can you ban things like fresh fruit and orange juice? Or vinegar or moldy cheeses? Mushrooms? These things are the most natural foods we have. The idea that consuming yeast or fermented foods causes yeast infections seems kind of silly. It's like saying if you eat sprouts you will grow plants out of your butt. I've eaten homemade fermented cabbage of one kind or another my whole life. I also take yeast a B-vitamins supplement. I've never noticed any correlation to vaginal yeast infections, for example. Antibiotics ? Yes, and that makes perfect sense.

2. Some symptoms often listed here as indicators of candida seem kind of frivolous. Things like digestive problems and fatigue can be indicators of many different things. Most Americans suffer from these symptoms, and it seems kind of unbelievable that they all have candida to blame.

3. I read through the FAQ's, but can someone actually define what is meant by candida? I've always thought it's a normal thing that lives in the body and sometimes outgrows, manifesting as a vaginal yeast infection. Here it's often described a horrible parasite that's in every part of the body. Is anyone actually clear? Are there journal articles anywhere?

Thanks a lot!
