Your experiences very closely resemble mine. Same sort of situation where many of the minor symptoms you described were present a couple weeks before anxiety started to set in.
To date, I have had three such "episodes" - one at 13 years of age, 28, and 30 (I am now 31). Each was preceded by high-stress times/changes in my life (including work, relationship breakdowns, and over-exercising), skin eruptions (in fact I have had "troubled" skin ever since being in Japan for the three weeks prior to my episode at 13), heartburn, loss of libido (though I don't recall that being an issue at 13), insomnia, ringing in the ears, tingling and coldness in the extremities, and finally anxiety. The more serious the source of stress the greater the anxiety and longer recovery time. (I have not listed all of my symptoms, but most if not all of the symptoms you describe I too have experienced.)
I too have just started piecing things together in so far as a possible connection between adrenal problems and candida. I have yet to be tested for either. I have read that hormonal changes create (perhaps by weakening the immune system, I don't know) an environment within which candida can flourish starting a cycle that makes it difficult for the body to rid itself of the overgrowth: an overtaxed liver, poor digestion and with the resultant poor absorption of/creation of key vitamins and minerals. It also appears that there is a possible connection between candida overgrowth and zinc and vitamin B6 deficiencies - zinc apparently has at least two important roles: keep copper levels in check, and proper functioning of the immune system. High copper levels have been linked to psychological problems such as anxiety and depression, as well as physiological problems with the adrenal glands.
Some have linked high copper levels to mercury toxicity - which some cite dental fillings as a source.
As I have said, I have only recently been looking into it. Here are a few of the links that I have collected in pulling this information together. I imagine that are more authoritative sources (note that some may at first glance appear unrelated, like one dealing with autism), but this is what some brief websearching produced:

I have done some parasite cleanses (per Dr. Clark), and had good results immediately and felt much better (though my symptoms are much more episodic than ongoing). I have also done 3 Liver Flushes all with modest results, but realize that more need to be done - I believe that for some, once the process starts, the flushes need to continue until there are no more stones. I also started taking some grapefruit seed extract, which apparently is an effective antifungal agent, and had good, but short lived results with that.
I have just recently started with Threelac, and we'll see how that goes - like many on this site, I don't believe it should be used for maintenance.
I am curious about your situation, do you have a adrenal gland tumor or not?
