My mother seem to have either Ascaris or strongyloides. I can't tell which one it is. She has a constant flow of small white specks(looks like fine salt) coming from her nose and sometimes eyes. My guess is that it is microfilariae of either Ascaris or strongloides. She is 70+ years. Considering her age, I don't want to give her medication without some idea of what the parasite may be. The ID doctor turned out to be useless. Her PCP is willing to do ELISA test, but not sure how to order those. If you have done an ELISA test at labcore or quest diagnostics, can you please share the test codes(CPT?) that were used for diagnosis. Thanks in advance.
