My answer:

Better health. I want to purge whatever parasites I might have picked up during a lengthy trip to SE Asia this year.

Sure, vanity and weight loss, however temporary, ARE perks.

For all the tribulations one encounters on this fast, I feel it is worth it.

I prefer to feel SQUEAKY clean-ish about twice a year.

This is becoming a sort of traditional fall/spring cleaning thing for me.

I'm in pretty good shape physically. I look good...but I would much rather FEEL good inside.
