I second Soulfulsurvivor. Addiction can be treated only if that person has the desire to overcome his addiction. If your friend doesn't have any desire then it would be waste of time and money. Before taking him to an addiction centre, why don't you try some home remedies? A good healthy diet, meditation, and exercise can help to overcome addiction.
