http://emedicine.medscape.com/article/229312-treatment#d11 This explains why Antibiotic therapy is important in strongyloides. The other articles explain doxy disrupting the worms cycle . Only exception I can find is loa loa , but doxy is now used for river blindness and other filaria worms like heart worm , the parasite and vector article I posted even mentions doxy being an important tool .
