I chose to take a mix of me-Se-Cysteine and Selenomethionine, was logic from http://mueller_ranges.tripod.com/links/compendium/compendium.html that having two formulations allows a better uptake and use of the element.
It is possible the metallic taste is linked to a high intake of selenium, but since you mention trouble taking the ATP cofactors (B2/B3), I suspect some hidden factor giving your probs?
How's your zinc intake?
Zinc is one of those side nutrients that interact with the boron, magnesium and Iodine for benefit..
But it might be helpful if you could describe the reactions you get to the B2/B3.
It depends upon the formulation of the B3, but B3 is a good antifugal nutrient, and when there are reactions to taking it (like flush and histamine release), it's possible it's due to a fungal infection. ( http://www.wellnessresources.com/health/articles/niacinamide_turns_out_to_be_a_potent_candida-killing_nutrient/ )
Candida (a cornerstone of biofilmic infection) tends to hide heavy metals in it's goopy colonies ( http://www.peak-health-now.com/candida-yeast-and-heavy-metals-discussion.html )
Iodine does indeed help break down biofilm colonies (it's not exactly a friendly mineral to parasites ;)
In this case I suggest getting higher on zinc (7-15 mg/day), ideally zinc-methionine, with some copper in the blend (copper and vitamin C and zinc love eachother).
You can easily up your boron intake too, 7-15 mcg. Wombat's posts are very good in explaining the benefits of boron against fungus and the like.
Zinc is one of those elements that helps kick out the heavy metals and help keep it out. Besides that? Sweatting.
Vairagi (another forumgoer) taught me that getting a change in the taste of the mouth is linked directly to the current activity of the liver (the tongue and liver are on the same axis)- even soaking your feet in a particular item (fx, olive oil, zinc oxide cream(baby rash cream), etc) can give a change in tonguefeel within 30 mins to 1 hour. (baby rash cream's an easy zinc source, btw :)
Oh, I wanted to ask, where in Europe? I'm o
In DK. :)
