I hate to butt in right here, but I'm new on Curezone and I cannot seem to find the beginning of this discussion. Maybe you can refer me to the proper place to find a protocol and support for strongyloides?

I'm 61, Type 1 (insulin dependent) diabetic, and was very healthy and active for years. Last year, after a tragedy in my family (my son died), I began to lose weight and have many, many symptoms. The problem was, I was eating as much or more than before, and neither I nor my counselor thought this was about clinical depression. (even though I was also experiencing Depression from the weight and iron loss).

Just prior to my son dying I was reintroduced to an old friend who became my boyfriend... and he had just come back from months (years) of overseas travel. I started to wonder if I had picked up "something" from him... thinking more of a virus, but those were all ruled out.

It's been 18 months of exhaustion and fatigue and insomnia and struggles to maintain my weight... of hormone and thyroid disturbances... and eye pain. (severe). I was told it's probably Celiac (so I went 1000% gluten free). Slowly I put the weight on, but I have not regained my health.

Last week my doc called me into this office. For some reason he had tested me for strongyloides (he didn't even know why) and I tested positive. He said it was serious... and said treatment might be lengthy. I asked why it hadn't shown up in my stool and he said this particular parasite doesn't... it's a blood test. So all those stool tests were pointless, I guess.

What is "the protocol"? How do I get rid of strongyloides? (I'm so glad I didn't get cortison!) And the million dollar question... could I have gotten this from my boyfriend who has recently traveled all over the world and lived in Southeast Asia, Egypt, etc? Everyone says no... My doctor, my vet, and everyone around here are saying... we just don't see this parasite here in Northern California. When we do see it, it's because a person has been overseas. I haven't left California in years. How did I get it? How do I get rid of it? (I'm SO SORRY to have interupted this conversation... any pointers would be so appreciated.)

Lastly... my vet says no need to deworm my cat and dog, but she will do it anyway. And my doctor said no need to deworm the boyfriend... unless he's also positive. Is this true?
