To repeat myself: parasites, if suspected, should be dealt with directly at the same time as improving nutrition. It is not Either/Or. Some situations need a direct hit.

It has been pointed out that even with the start of excellent nutrition, a bad infestation of parasites means that the nutrients are being taken before the human can assimilate them fully. This is like shovelling during a great snowstorm.
