Hello,
I have been very strictly adhering to a water-only fast for 13 days, so far (I plan on 24). While I have no desire to break the fast, I feel like my progress is slowing, which is somewhat discouraging.
I definitely had a bit of weight to lose(25 pounds would be a good start), so I don't think that's the issue, and I live a very healthy lifestyle outside of fasting (about 30-50% raw, 100% vegan, drink lots and lots of water). I have tried to be active, as much as my body will allow, but fatigue and lightheadedness (coupled with the fact that I live in a very hot and humid climate) have prevented anything but very minimal exercise. Despite this, I try to be active during the day: cleaning a little around the house, walking around the yard with my dog, etc.
I understand that the metabolism does slow down during a fast, but I sort of look and feel like my progress has come to a halt (I'm about to move, so my scale, tape measure, etc are all packed! The only thing I have to go on is how I look in the mirror and how my clothes fit).
Has anyone else experienced this before? Have you "broken through" the plateau threshold at some point? I still have 11 days to go, so I'm not giving up, but would just like to know what other fasters have experienced!
Thanks!
