THOSE ARE SOME SERIOUSLY MESSED UP PEOPLE RIGHT THERE. WOW. I hate when that **** happens.

On another note, did you see a gastroenterologist yet? I would say this is a pretty important step- getting tested. If you have a lot of gas and diarrhea or constipation, I would ask to get tested for SIBO (small intestinal bacterial overgrowth). A colonoscopy would also be a pretty good idea. parasites are also a possibility, so see if you can get tested for that (I'm not sure how this works though). If you also have a problem holding back gas (gas seemingly escapes and you can't do anything to stop it) something may be wrong with your anal sphincter muscles. Try Kegel's exercises and if this continues (especially if you develop fecal leakage etc)go see a colorectal surgeon about it.
An interesting new-ish procedure is FMT (fecal microbiota transplant) and some people have seen improvement with that. Not very accessible, but it is possible to DIY (but if you go this path be sure and get your donor tested! Also, you will definitely have to do it more than once to have a good chance of seeing results). I have no personal experience with the treatment, but some people on forums and such have reported good results. Best of luck! :)
