The pulsating power sound is like what I've heard while experiencing sleep paralysis, or something very much like it, and things similar to it (though not entirely unpleasant, although still bad) while not paralyzed.

Therefore, I hypothesize that a parasite was involved in that, and that I was hearing its frequency amplified through my semi-conscious state.
