I have suspected strongyloides but my WBC count has always been normal, and whatever I have seen come out of me, could have been related to something I've ate. Nothing that looked parasitic was ever "alive" so to speak so it may have just been partially digested food that looked "worm like" or "egg' like. I gave up on high tech diagnostics because I spent thousands and got no answers. I figured it couldn't be parasitic or it would have died out long ago. It's possible but I think actually my symptoms would be worse. Over time the symptoms have lessened slowly. The only test I would ever do in the future is the DNA test. That would confirm whatever bacteria, yeast, or parasites might be present, and ever since I paid out the tooth for the initial bloodwork, colonoscopies, hundreds of stool tests, and even an abdominal "live" xray, and the only thing they could deduce was that I had "rapid" transit time. I would like to get the DNA test this fall at some point. I did have a large itchy bump on my ankle with no sign of bite or sting marks. This is a good sign of strongyloide entering the skin via a ground itch. I wouldn't be suprised if it was, but suprised if it still is. In many cases of bacteria, or a parasitic infection, many people have long lasting IBS symptoms that are not longer attributed to a live infection. It's the downside of our growing up in a sterile environment and gut flora not being "vaccinated" against these invaders.
