>This is what i did, i bought myself a blood glucose skin prick testing kit, then tested myself over the course of a week, decided that I should be eating lots of sugary things costantly to keep my sugars up, and this made me worse... *sigh*
Did you find out you had low sugar? I can often feel the Sugar drop when its below 90, but not always. Some times glucose can be low but its not noticeable or the person might not be aware of the symptoms.
Eating candy or Sugar makes me feel much worse... Not from low Sugar but from the GI condition which eventually seems to make low sugar happen more often. The trick to combat low sugar in this situation is to eat normal food but not candy, cake, ice cream etc, but eat food with carb. Thats what works for me... Brown rice, black beans, broccoli, tomatoes, tofu, boiled eggs etc... have plenty of carbs :o)
Its interesting that before 2010 I could not eat anything with fiber like popcorn or brown rice otherwise I would have diarrhoea. Its easier to fight low sugar now, I used to have to eat a lot of root vegetables like potatoes to balance between low sugar and diarrhoea.
I eat what makes me feel better. It has been a trial and error process. All the diet suggestions I have seen so far would make me feel much worse.
I eat bananas or plain potato chips in a low sugar emergency if I'm outside of home. I only eat candy if there is nothing else available in an emergency.
Do you test in the morning? How low have you been in the mornings? How low sugar have you ever got?
>Hows things going with you anyway? I've heard you successfully rid your parasite? how is recovery going?
I'm not cured but I think I'm a tiny bit better in general. Like you, I also need to save $$ for the next steps.
I find it hard to beleave there are no good labs or Tropical Disease drs in EU. I just saw this today in wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Institute_of_Tropical_Medicine_Antwerp
here is the link to the site in English http://www.itg.be/itg/GeneralSite/Default.aspx?WPID=513&L=E
Have you tried talking with them?
There are no Drs doing sigmoidoscopy with mucous scraping for parasites in EU?
Dr Keven Cahill does a good test but there are other labs in Brazil which are also very good. One of them does not use sigmoidoscopy but it seems that the technique is different then the usual tests in USA. Labion has detected Giardia and entomoeba histolytica for me and others...
Best,
Jazzy
