"Not to argue, but to clarify for other readers, I managed to find three different sources that back up the 1000 parasites.
"
Please, you say you want to clarify things for readers. Many people come here in desperation without any serious studying of parasites. You are goggling and yes finding some sites mentioning 1000 or more or even much more parasites. Not one of your sites are by any known medical expert on parasites.
And more interesting again you can not find One person in the world that can name 1000 human pathogen parasites.
To discover a new human pathogen parasite is not easy, because most of them are discovered and well described already, many many tropical medicine doctors and researchers in medicine would love to discover a new pathogen human parasite, if it caused a lot of sickness and they could show that they could even get the Nobel prize in medicine, or at least get very famous in medical circles.
Again you cannot even find someone listing the names (or classification) of 500 human pathogen parasites (yes may be if you include every sub type, like some well known parasites have 20 known sub types). But to come with such claims I assume these people must have put up a list at least somewhere? Please show us the list. Yes you can find some people saying ohh yes there are more than 1000 human parasites, but people saying so, and people repeating this has zero zero evidence of it. It is very very difficult to survive in the human body, there exist an enormous amount of earth worms for example, only a minuscule fraction of them are able to survive in a human body...
This idea that most pathogen human parasites not even are known by western medicine has no more than wild speculation behind it. People believing in it will easily end up hardly even interested in trying to get proper diagnosed, because they will think ohh because there are thousand or more human pathogen parasites and my doctor only can test for much much less then I can just as well just try this and that protocol that promise to cure almost any parasite. Instead of spending time finding the handful of doctors truly following the books and doing proper testing for well known parasites they end up chasing one miracle protocol after another, and some of them even are helpful, may be reducing symptoms. And yes some herbs can even get rid of a few parasites, herbs to expel some intestinal worms are well known, and yes in china there is a well known herb with great effects agains malaria (even some western parasite medicines are extracts from such herbs)
Doctors of course themselves very responsible for such ideas have developed (Ide of thousands of human pathogen parasites). Almost no doctor ( properly test for the parasites well described in the big books on infection medicine. Well yes many of their tests are good, but for some parasites incredible few doctors seems to be aware of how they need to test, they do not follow what the best books says they should do, they can easily miss out and declare patient free of parasites even if the patient potentially have a very dangerous well know parasite causing big damage to the body, with potential fatal consequences if one go too many years with it untreated . The doctor then tell patient he can have no parasite...The patient may be with pains all over the body, gastro problems, foggy head, skin problems etc of course know something is serious wrong, and many guess correctly it could very likely be they are infected with a parasite even if doctors not find any. Then it is easy to think if doctors not can find the parasite then it must be a alien parasite (a parasite not known by western medicine). So this is how such theory of many many unknown human pathogen parasites easily evolve. But most human pathogen parasites are almost for sure very well known and well described in the big books (I am not talking about every sub-type). But some of them that are quite common go unnoticed by almost every doctor because they do not do proper testing as described in the books. However to for to make people think it is more than thousand human pathogen parasites is a big mistake in my opinion, it make people chase miracle cures, rather than chasing the few truly knowledgable doctors in the filed.
You ask for people well read on the topic to criticise you, your title of the tread is
"Gruesome Facts "
A fact is something that is well studied and well understood, and that there are logic and empirical research behind. So if it is a FACT that there are more than 1000 human parasites and you not can find one single person on this earth giving a scientific evidence of classification of such list then it is not FACT, then it is speculation. Such seculation can lead to non optimal strategy for sick people, instead of trying to find good diagnostician doctor they will chases all type of miracle cures (that also have little or no good scientific backing)...I do not say that herbs and natural remedies are totally useless...yes some herbs are well documented to have effect against some parasites, it is far to go from this and claim it is fact that there are more than 1000 human pathogen parasites and that western medicine only know 40 to 50 of them, and then link to pages claiming they can cure almost any parasite.
"yet tests are available for only approximately 40 to 50 types"....
This is also wrong, you say FACTS, western medicine know much more than 50 parasites and can test for far more than 50 parasites.... this based on the wide definition of human pathogen parasites (any organism that can be living in human body documented to causing sickness )...so please stop claim you state FACTS when much of what you states are speculations... read the big books on infection medicine a couple of times and see yourself...but yes you are right parasites can be very harmful, and yes many parasites are wide spread around the globe.
