As a result of antibiotic use, infections like Clostridium difficile infection (CDI) have become more prevalent.

"This increase in CDI has been accompanied by increasing rates of colectomy and death, with approximately 100,000 people dying annually in the USA with CDI, whereby the infection is at least one of the contributing factors to death."

"...the focus of FMT on repairing the most obvious severe damage induced by antibiotic medications in CDI could be only the first chapter in a much larger task.
