Dear VWT Team,

I stopped using Iodine supplements (Iodoral) several months ago because I thought it was contributing to my chronic lower-mid-back pain. On a whim, this morning I decided to try again, using a 50mg Iodoral. My back is now killing me, but only on the right-hand side, and I have a lot of bubbles in my urine (proteinuria?). The pain is just just beneath my ribs, in the middle of my back between my spine and my side.

Obviously, I'll cease taking the iodine, but does anyone have an idea as to what is causing my pain? Aside from the acute pain today, it normally comes and goes, and is directly proportional to how foamy my urine is.

One more clue is that after a Liver Flush a few months ago, my proteinuria diminished significantly, and had just recently begun to increase a little bit, but nothing like today after the iodine.

My doctor thinks my pain is muscular, and referred me to a chiropractor. The chiropractic care does help some, but not completely.

Also, FYI, I went to see a urologist thinking he would see my back pain being directly proportional to urine bubbles as an indicator of something, but he did not (and dismissed me).

One last clue: I think that my chronic back pain began after I first started using Iodine a few years ago after a stage 0 Breast Cancer diagnosis. About the same time, I was chelating, and doing parasite cleansing, and you name it. I probably overtaxed my detox capabilities.

The only things wrong with me now are: my fingernails have horrible ridges, lunula are non-existent, circulation is poor, and my back hurts. It's more of an annoyance than debilitating as I can still play tennis and work.

Other notes are: I do use digestive enzymes, vitamins, omega 3s, and I exercise regularly and am of a normal/slim size.

If anyone can help me figure out what is causing my back pain, you will be my hero! My sense is that it is not muscular.
