Continuing the SWF (Salt-Water-Flush) once or twice a week post-MC was a decision you made on your own that obviously did not work out. The whole object of the Master-Cleanse is to cleanse and rejuvenate the digestive system so that it works optimally on its own.
This state is not always attained in one MC, much less in the seven days you began a year ago. In my case it took over four years of dedicated cleansing, including very long fasts, always supervised by my excellent naturopath.
It sounds like you have some health issues which may or may not be best addressed through a cleanse such as the MC, which is NOT for everyone! For example, if you have parasites or yeast, you really should take care of those issues before considering other protocol.
To me it sounds like you need some professional guidance. In my case, I looked high and low until I found a natural health professional I could work with, and never looked back. All health pros are not created equal, and this may take some searching, but it is well worth the effort. The same goes for allopathic pros.
Whatever you decide, your precious health should be first and foremost. Rather than "blame" a half-hearted effort you made at cleansing a year in the past, try digging deeper into the causes for your current issues and deal with them, basing your decisions on solid information you and your health pro can agree on.
Wishing you radiant good health,
Somer
