I disagree, I don't see any need for meat in the diet. Many species exist quite well without it, it's hard to digest, and isn't something that people would feel a natural desire for. It's a learned habit to eat meat. When I think about rotting animal flesh full of parasites that has to be "preserved" or cooked to make it palatable, it turns my stomach.

What I always loved is fruit and I agree that vegetables aren't so great for us.

All my opinion of course.
