HV stated that " Alkaline Water contain caustic hydroxides (OH)"

A hydroxide is OH-, not *OH*... *OH* is a hydroxyl... an electron makes the difference and is noted by the minus sign in OH- for the hydroxide. So the statement is incorrect. And these two molecules have very different chemical properties.

OH- can join with a *free radical* neutralizing it, while the OH IS a free radical.

I know it gets confusing to some... including apparently HV based upon the incorrect statement above.

In addition, when one takes calcium hydroxide, and mixes it into distilled water, it will absorb carbon dioxide from the air and form dissolved and undissolved solids of calcium carbonate in solution.

>>"I have got what it think is parasites and candida, that i am battling, also they just removed a tumor from my bladder. i read to add alkalizing water to my arsenal. I looked into it, and stumbled upon this from HV that i trust very much, any thoughts ?"<<

Make your own alkaline water... there are many ways to accomplish this... You could get a Berkey filter and filter your tap water... add the fluoride filters if your water has fluoride added to it... it will help to reduce the fluoride content.

Then with pH sticks, or a meter, measure the pH.

Then, see how it reacts with a bit of lemon or lime squeezed into it.

If you get a slight fizz, it is more alkaline than acid regardless of pH (long explanation that deals with buffering capacity even in *acid* pH water - that is why a pH 6.5 water can be beneficial too). If nothing, it is likely more acid than alkaline...

I Berkey filter mine... then add 1/4 teaspoon of both Epsom Salts , and Potassium Bicarbonate to a liter\quart of this filtered water (note - YOU must determine what your nutritional needs are; this may not be for you)... it has done wonders for me - increased energy, improved endurance, greater muscle mass growth and retention, etc.

I would start with a 1/8th teaspoon per quart\liter, or less, and then go from there.

Ted on Earthclinic recommends sodium bicarbonate, however, this did not do it for me... so I played with it on my own. In addition, you must be certain to eat *live carbons* - I use black strap molasses... this is a real pick me up - however, since drinking this water I have *needed* it much less than in the past.

As an aside, I also ingest a good amount of kefir in the form of water and dairy kefir for the good flora... this makes a HUGE difference in your body's ability to use whatever you eat\drink better, and more efficiently.

Why? Mineral bicarbonates, carbonates, and sulfates as dissolved solids in drinking water, and foods have been lacking in our diets for a very long, long time - since commercial production with cides, processing. and food chemicals, water treatments, chlorination, fluoridation, etc.

BTW - citrates also will help to increase the bicarbonate levels (buffering system) in the body, so you could opt for that depending upon what may be available to you - just by squeezing lemon or lime in all of your *filtered* drinking water.

That may be a good place to start.
