In search for love............  A very familiar story and one with which I deeply relate.

It is far too common for stepchildren not to be treated fairly once a couple has their own child.  I really don't know why this is but I see it over and over again.  Almost like a "Cinderella" syndrome.  But, just a question, what happened to the twins?  Did you also leave them with the stepdad or did you find someone else to care for them?  Please don't think I am being judgmental.  It sounds like you were undergoing severe emotional anguish and when we are in this state we simply don't think clearly.  Did you undergo any type of counseling?

I am so glad that there is a "happy ending" and that you have found true love.  And yes, love is all about actions, not emotions.  Emotions can fade away.

In any event, your story brought tears to my eyes because it hit so very close to home.  My daughter had almost the same experience as you.  She had a child in her late teens and soon after met a man whom she married at a very young age.  As yours, it was a very religiously structured household.  Two other little girls were subsequently born but the thing is the first child, the stepchild, was never treated fairly and I often commented on this, paying her special attention to compensate for the neglect, while trying my best not to show favoratism because that was not my intention.  I love them all.  Well, end of story.........  My daughter up and left the household.  She left the three girls, including the firstborn who was being neglected.  So I took the firstborn in and cared for her for a few years until her mother became stable enough to care for her.  I won't go on with this post although the story still goes on to this day.  But my daughter should have received counseling and I still advise her to do so.  There are still ongoing issues.  Yet, as you, she tells me that she has now found "true love."  And again I could expound on this but I won't.

If you haven't already, I would advise you to seek counseling, even though everything is wonderful for you now and I am so happy that it is.  You see, life mirrors what we are inside and if we have serious issues going on, they will eventually surface in the material world.  It is important to resolve those hurts that are within us.

Okay........  I seem to have poured my heart out here and I don't really mean to "preach" but I truly want you to experience love and happiness forever and the thing is, that true love can only be realized when we first love ourselves.  Then true healing and true love follow.

I truly wish you the best of everything, I wish you joy, I wish you love,

Luella
