Need some practical, realistic advice regarding the taking of probiotics, specifically Primal Defense. I have read the instructions in the package, and have calculated the cost - I'll go broke if I use it as suggested. I have already done a 10 day Master Cleanse w/P&B, followed by a 35 day parasite cleanse using ParaGone. The Primal Defense instructions say that it is another cleanse routine, and that I should take 6 tablets a day for 90 days, before tapering off to a maintenance level of 3/day for the rest of my life. At between $33 to $45 per bottle of 90 pills, that's a lot of money.

It may help to know that I am traditionally a very healthy person. Even before cleansing, my BP was always on the low side of normal, my cholesterol levels made the techs at the blood bank envious every time they'd measure it (when I donate blood), I have always had regular bowel movements. I did need to lose a few pounds, which I have - 33. I feel great, but I have gleaned from the forums that a good probiotic would be beneficial for replacing good bacteria after the cleansing that I've done. Then to read that I "needed" to take so many before settling into a lifetime routine of 3 tablets per day - whew!

So, who has some suggestions? Can I replace the bacteria with a lower dosage? I don't want to take so little that it doesn't help, which would be like throwing money away in an even worse way. But I don't want to take more than necessary and throw the money away in that manner either...

Please help.

Thanks!
