I have just done an Oxypowder cleanse for constipation and am still taking it daily.
Firstly, I have to say I didn't feel as if I did a very complete cleanse as I took only 4 capsules at night (the recommended dose). I was doing very liquid and frequent BMs (as instructed) but not much was coming out. I still felt a bit full and bloated. The supplier said she takes 8 capsules but I was too nervous to take that many. Now I know what to expect I might do it again.
The most suprising thing was an incredible increase of energy. My brain was alive! Every time I took 4 capsules I slept throughout the night (rare for me). Clearly what I need is magnesium but interestingly, in the past when I took a mineral supplement of Magnesium chloride with Fumaric acid nothing much happened. Another thing I noticed on Oxypowder was that, despite frequent liquid movements, I had no feeling of weakness or dehydration.
Oxypowder is magnesium hydroxide but it is very different in effect to Milk of Magnesia which is also magnesium hydroxide but combined with sodium hydrogen carbonate etc. Whatever "oxygen" oxypowder has in it is very effective.
I am still taking oxypowder daily, a couple a night. It seems to be a case of trial and error. Because I feel better I don't want to stop. I had a surge of energy taking Chinese medicine and might go back to it if Oxypowder fails to improve things long term.
One comment, you really need to be near a bathroom! You don't get the stomach cramps and urgency that you get with senna but the frequency you need to go is a bit embarassing! Also somewhat explosive - with all that oxygen!
Another thing I did was take a lot of MSM. I guess I was thinking I might remove parasites at the same time as the cleanse. I have taken MSM before but it has never given me this energy.
