Hi. I have blood Sugar problems as well. As long as you space out your food throughout the day your Sugar levels should stay stable. I throw up if my blood Sugar level drops too low while doing the flush so I've worked out ways (over the course of 10 flushes) to keep it stable.
First off, even though eating fruit isn't the best normal diet for us we should use it to keep us stable on that day. One or two days of fruit won't kill us. If you aren't on a low carb diet for weight loss reasons then I'd recommend eating fruit all day till about 2 hours before the Epsom Salts . No oils. The fruit should digest within a couple of hours and be out of the way. It's never caused nausea for me. If you are on the low carb diet then take a look at my low carb flush. It's basically just an adaptation of the existing flushes.

I haven't had good results with eating meat or nuts while doing the flush though Southern Belles daughter seems to be able to handle it. It seemed as though the meat was still in my stomach several hours later. Made me nauseaus. But if you are willing to experiment then you might be able to handle some low fat meats on the day of the flush.
After the Epsom Salts I had a couple of flushes when I had to sip coke, non diet type, every once in a while. I would sip it a half hour after the oil. Next couple of sips might not be till one hour later. Next sip I would wait one and a half hour and the last sip at the two hour point. Or something like that. It doesn't have to be exact. It's just a slow way to bring my sugar level close to norm so I don't have the peak and drop problem. This would keep my sugar from dropping, thereby helping me not to throw up. The biggest problem with this is it keeps you awake. I set a timer next to me and just reset it after each sip. So I could doze between sips. Another time I just watched a movie for a few hours then went to sleep.
As to the blood sugar problems keeping you awake that sounds a bit like a problem caused by candida and for that I'd recommend doing a herbal parasite cleanse in conjunction with using a zapper. It may take a few months to completly wipe out the candidis but it can be done with dilligence. In the mean time you can use a natural sleep aid and ammonia mop up to help. What happens, thereby causeing the sleeplessness is that the candida isn't being fed so dieoff begins which causes a headache and sleep problems. You can take ornithine capsules the night of the flush to get rid of the headaches. Recommended dosage is between 2-8 capsules. Mix the powder into your grapefruit and oil. Puts me right to sleep.
Since using the herbal and zapper parasite cleanse my blood sugar problems are noticibly improved and I get much better sleep.
I hope this is of some help. I may not be able to get back in to answer any questions so I've tried to be thourough.
Take care,
Lisa
