I know this is an old thread but I cannot believe that people actually believe that innocent men are not being convicted.
I was very sure that point of view was correct also, until it happened to me. Now as I research it I have found that it is true once the allegation is made, you are guilty until you can prove yourself innocent. If you do not prove yourself innocent then you will be convicted just because of the allegation. And you know what??? No one cares. The police only look for evidence to convict you they do not look at and hide any evidence that proves your innocent.
The prosecutors only want a conviction, the truth??? not a point, a win is the point , so they twist anything you say and go as far as to coach the accusser as to what to say while on the stand..The judge turns a blind eye while this is happening.
And you think none of this matters?
I know there are true cases but it is like a witch hunt out here.All that is required to put you in jail is an accussation. NO evidence, just saying it happened is enough. Talk about unfair. And many have the additude that so what a couple of innocent men are in jail, it is better than a true felon going free.
How bad is our society getting , remember innocent until PROVEN Guilty??? Just a wishful dream.
You may ask , what happens to those who are actually proven innocent? Financial ruin because of defending them selves, Depression because of the the year or so of not knowing what was going to happen.
