That's meaning that the dosage is still to low and you have to increase it (or till you get the max dosage, don't know it out of my head). That you don't notice the HCl means your stomach IS NOT producing enough HCl! If it was you would have noticed the extra HCl.
I recommend you to take HCl. But maybe first check if you'll have H pylori. Or if you tolerate it, it'll be fine I suppose. But don't take HCl if you have stomach inflamation.

Yep, TFT test. And specific test for H Pylori, salmonella and stuff.
