OMG! Even after all he's seen me go through, has gone through the parasite killing himself--Grandpa comes walking into the house, munching on a zucchini he didn't bother to even wash off with the garden hose--let alone any other method of cleaning it. And you probaby have a good idea of what all a pocket knife gets used for by a rancher--without being washed, let alone disinfected..that's what peels the turnips they eat straight out of the garden. He was a bachelor for 16 years before we married, I don't think there's any way he's going to get retrained now. Even having the CMV virus, and getting knocked on his rear with the homeopathics for it...he goes to the fridge and drinks straight out of the milk jug--the grandkids corrected HIM the other day about that. And when I fix a meal..I have to run him out of the kitchen or he is eating out of the bowl, and dipping his spoon back in--then when it comes time to sit down to the table "I'm not hungry now"...
He now has the knowledge about parasites...sometimes it's just "easier" to go back to what you've always done.

Grubby feet..I definetly am going to have to put a tub by the door to stop them before they come in--with disinfectant in it like you said..because they come in the house with their grubby feet that have been outside in the horse manure, and dust, and where the dogs have gone to the bathroom--and sit back and put their feet on the couch!

With the big tadoo their other grandma raised when I made the mistake of telling her the granddaughter had "coughed up carrot sticks and white threads" when I told her to not swallow her mucous--(the Alt med Dr had her on homeopathics and said his asthmatic neice had coughed up parasites too)...I wouldn't dare give the grandkids anything now, or ever mention parasites to any of them. I was holding my breath tha the grandkids wouldn't tell her, and their mom after that- that we had been having them use the zapper before that too, along with giving them each 1 dose of Barefoot's when they came in the house. It's the adults that are goofy about the whole thing-"How DARE that Dr mention parasites as being the cause of the granddaughter's chronic lung infection/asthma- he's a QUACK!"

So, that's what we're up against..the grandkids were very interested and willing--but as big of a mess as it turned into with their other grandmother and parents after that--the responsibility for ignoring these kids' health problems that COULD be headed off--is on their shoulders now. THIS Grandma..is a fruitcake. :)
