The Bentonite does not pull the actual lining away...it pulls the toxic mucoid plaque that lines the intestines away and the psyllium helps to sweep it out. The actual mucosal lining of the intestines remains intact and functions better without the gunk clogging it up...improved nutrient absorption and functioning of digestive enzymes, stronger peristalsis, reduction in overall toxins, elimination of some parasites and candida, benefits liver functioning, etc.
