I haven't seen much information on the long term consequences on parasites.
What I've come accross, and I can't document, is that tape worm will cause vitamin B-12 deficiency, I think hook worm is associated with anemia (caused by lack of iron, because the hook worm gets it) and it's my personal suspicion that generally they cause vitamin B deficiencies.
I also have low thyroid, and I have been supplimenting with low doses of iodine. I lived in a low Iodine area for many years, and I took levothyroid for a very long time, and then went off of it, because the area I live in has such poor health care I've started going the do it yourself route.
It would not surprise me at all if a worm infection of any kind would interupt the necessary nutrients to produce any hormone. After all they get first pick, you get whatever is left over.
I have the feeling that any worm infection is going to cause defieiencies, and poor general health as a result. I know I'm much heathier than I used to be, and I still have a very long way to go to get rid of the parasites I've had. My skin and hair is very much better than it used to be, and my energy level is a lot better.
I'll be very interested in whatever you find out, thanks for bringing it up.
