..So I ran out of my Organic Blackstrap Molasses and, since my normal preferred health-food store was closed today (Sunday), I went to the local Whole Foods Grocery, thinking surely they would have it.

Here's an eye-opener: They had Blackstrap and it was unsulfured, but was not Organic.

So I bought the quart bottle, figuring I would use it as backup, but I was pretty surprised and quite frustrated that they did not carry Organic Blackstrap. I mean, who buys Blackstrap these days? Only people who are intensely health-conscious, like me :-), right? And to us, Organic would be important!

I got it home. I opened the bottle. I made the drink. Tasted the drop which stuck to the side of my glass- Yuk. I thought, this cannot be-! I have fallen into the Ozone of Blackstrap-drinkers and my tastebuds have taken a left somewhere!

I sipped (Now cautiously) the Drink.. Oh, no. It's all over the place. I can taste, actually taste, some kind of a solvent in this Blackstrap. It repeats on me after I have swallowed, too.. Like rotten eggs it is, or like the kind of gas you use with a gas stovetop. I cannot drink this. Not just because I don't like the taste, but because my body is telling me "No. It tastes toxic.".

So, why am I posting this dramatic saga? To say, IMO if you can't get Organic, just wait until you can.

For those who may think it doesn't make a difference.

Tomorrow when my normal source is open, I will get *two* bottles of *Organic* Blackstrap. One to use, and one for backup.

And I think, just on principle, that I will take the other bottle back to Whole Foods.
