Hello it's,

I had one unmistakeable tape worm squirm right before I figured out that I had the critter in there, and got rid of it. I had quite a large tape worm (and various other parasites that I've been after ever since). It felt like it was rolling inside my intentines.

Subsequently, I got rid of a whole bunch of skinny white worms, probably juvenile ascaris, and after that I no longer experienced a twitching in my upper intestine. I had thought it was just upset digestion due to all the herbs and stuff I take when I'm in de worming mode, but the coincidence convinced me I had been experiencing worm twitches.

I am also convinced I'm got something hanging out near my left eye, and gives a definite twitch, hopefully I'll get rid of it this time around. Unfortunately, having parasites really puts you between a rock and a hard place, when you consult a regular MD, they are either convinced that you are nuts, or that you have been reading too much Dr. Hulda Clark e, and you are avoiding cancer by killing parasites.

As a result, herbal remedies are a lot easier to get than a lot of the prescription meds, and in addition, it seems that MDs are pretty much in denial regarding parasites. I suspect that part of the problem is that they are so taboo in the US, and so associated with poor sanitation and poverty in peoples minds, that an MD that suspecting parasites is sure of a diagnosis before bringing it up. I know I had all sorts of tests done, including a colonoscopy, and hemocrits, and no one came up with tape worm. So they are pretty hard to diagnose definitively.

It makes sense to me that if you can feel something, it's either a very large colony of critters in one place, or a big one parasite. And the peril of having parasites is that it's really easy to get a little nuts on the subject, kind of the 2000's equivalent of the old cold war 'there is a communist under every bed'. You wind up spending a lot of time wondering why you had that stomach twitch at that particular time. Or is that thing in the toilet a worm, or is it half digested onion.

I had a horrible parasitic infection, after years of excellent medical insurance and great access to medical care. So I killed it off with something I bought at the health food store for 15 bucks. Go figure. The sucker I killed off was a beef tape worm with a 5 mm head. I'm a jeweler, and my hubbie measured the dude with an electronic caliper we use for measureing gems. I hadn't found this forum yet, if I had I certainly would have sent in a photo. At the time I was just really glad it was tagenia saginata, and big enough to identify, if I'd eaten infected pork, instead of getting the beef tape worm, I very likely would be dead.

Given the risks involved with a parasitic infection, the smart thing to do from my perspective of really having had a close call, is to use some sort of de wormer on a regular basis. Our ancestors did it, they lived close enough to nature to know that like other large mammals, we get worms. Herbal de wormers are relatively inexpensive, and if anything the dose recommended it usually too low, so an overdose is unlikely.

I had a pretty good scare, I found tape worm segments in my stool, long before I found the critter's head, I had to wait to see what variety I was supporting. I had enough time to really think about cysts in my brain, and how much fun that was going to be for myself and my husband. I was very glad to find out what I did have.

Good luck on your search for information, I hope this is helpful to you.

Julie
