The simplest explanation is that the liver constantly drains bile into the gallbladder where it becomes more concentrated. When fat is ingested the gallbladder receives a signal to pump out its contents. At about the same time the liver releases fresh bile into the gallbladder and the whole process begins again. This is one reason Liver Flushing requires a series of flushes to successfully decongest the liver. As the gallbladder empties more bile (plus stones, parasites backed up bile and other toxins are pushed into the liver. The two week interval between flushes gives the liver time to work down more debris. Sometimes people experience a breakthrough when material starts moving through the liver at a more rapid rate and more frequent flushing is needed.

Once again, this is a very simple explanation.

For the Hulda Clark flush, here is a brief explanation of how the main elements work:
Epsom salt-promotes bowel movements and colon flushing before the flush and relaxes biliary ducts.
Oil- signals the gallbladder to dump its contents so ingested fats will be broken up
Acidic Juices-Help stimulate liver, some claim the juice will also thin bile, but I am not sure about this.

Remember-none of the oil or juice actually enters the liver, it simply acts as a stimulant to make the gallbladder release its contents. There are a lot of misconceptions about Liver Flushing like the oil lubricates the liver, or the stones are made up of Epsom salt, olive oil and juice. Most importantly, flushing works. However, like you, I like to try and understand how and why it works. Don't get discouraged by all the naysayers, keep pressing on at a safe rate and you will probably see many benefits to your health.
