Biofilm has been one of my problems. Here is one thing that has help a bunch and it is hard to believe, whole buttermilk.

Biofilm formation on indwelling silicone rubber voice prostheses in laryngectomized patients is still the main reason for dysfunction of the valve, leading to frequent replacements. Within patient support groups in The Netherlands, laryngectomees have suggested that the consumption of buttermilk prolongs the life-time of indwelling silicone rubber voice prostheses. The aim of the present study was to compare biofilm formation on Groningen button voice prostheses in a so-called artificial throat. Ten prostheses were placed in a simulated control group and ten other prostheses in a group with a simulated consumption of 700 ml buttermilk three times a day. Biofilms were allowed to grow on the prostheses by inoculating two artificial throats with the total cultivable microflora (bacteria and yeasts) isolated from an explanted Groningen button voice prosthesis. After 3 days, one artificial throat was perfused three times daily with phosphate buffer (control group) for 8 days, while the other artificial throat was perfused with buttermilk. Prostheses removed from the artificial throat in the control group were covered with a thick biofilm. Scanning electron microscopy showed microcolonies growing into the silicone rubber, similar to the ingrowth observed on explanted Groningen buttons. The simulated consumption of buttermilk in the other artificial throat almost fully prevented the formation of a biofilm on the prostheses during the experimental period. These in vitro experiments in the artificial throat demonstrate that the deterioration of voice prostheses can be lessened by the daily intake of buttermilk through its inhibitory effects on biofilm formation.
I am of the opinion the biofilm has candida, bacteria, and parasites all living in a pretty safe enviroment, while it goes on it merry way killing the host. Many of the things we use to treat the parasites also kill off the good bacteria that are that keep all the bad stuff in check. Buttermilk seems to kill the candida, while helping the good bacteria to come back.

When I first tried washing with yogurt, I showered, washing myself as usual; then still standing in the tub, rubbed half a cup of "Pavel's Original Russian Style" yogurt, into my skin and hair. With practice, you should be able to get by with only an eight of a cup or so. It was kind of funny, smelling like yogurt, standing in the shower. After a few minutes, I washed it all off with soap. I felt a little cleaner than usual. There was no immediate effect; that came later in the day.
(Pavel's Yogurt is like home made buttermilk. It is available in many Knob Hill, some Safeway, and many health food stores in the San Francisco Bay area. Any live culture yogurt may be used. Preference may be given to those without gelatin and other stiffening agents.)
Today, with the BSE/Mad Cow scare, one might try some of the soy yogurts.
The lacto-bacteria, including acidophilus, are known to kill candida and move in to take its place IF the concentrations of lactobacteria are high enough. A good live yogurt or buttermilk should have enough live lactobacilus to do this. Once the burdens of fighting skin borne bacteria and fungi are lifted, the immune system begins to work on other things.
Several hours after my first yogurt wash, I, ah, shall we say, became quite aware that my vitamin C need had fallen 20% and was still falling. I felt very clean inside. And I felt I did not need the gas mask as much. As I continued using the yogurt, my activated charcoal filters no longer needed changing several times each week. (I use to have to change them every day!) In fact, after two weeks of washing this way every morning (in 1987), I only needed the mask to deal with the fungal spores that come out at night, and while driving longer distances. I could even walk around in Downtown San Francisco without feeling weak from the auto exhaust. (1987)
Since I have been drinking buttermilk everyday and putting it on my skin my lingering issues seem to be going away. Not to say this is all I have done. Most recently I had a bad tooth removed which may have been the root of my problem, or at least a big part of it. The buttermilk has done much to straighten my gut out. I have read where two glasses a day will get rid of candida, also read where it should be left out of a candida diet. Guess one can only try and see if it helps.
