Seriously, maybe it is tolerated... but for how long? Just because there are "no problems" for several years... 5... 10... 20... doesn't mean that it isn't causing problems! If it's a neurotoxin then I'd like to eat as little as possible.
Glutamic acid naturally occurring in foods would be okay, though - like soy sauce. In moderation.
