To the original poster, let me give you a bit of background about myself.

I was emotionally abused by a woman, at some point I broke down and physically assaulted her.

Do you want my point of view on the situation? The point of view of someone who knows what it's like to be ground down by crazy-making verbal abuse until you snap and lash out physically?

I don't know if that is what happened to your friend.
