Bloodroot definitely makes me feel very, very ill. But when the ill feeling subsides, I feel much better than before I took it. So yes, it will make you feel sick. But it will also save your life, if you are dying.
I do not recommend taking it unless there is nothing else that can help you. I was really, really sick, and the disease was progressing quickly. I don't think I would be alive today if I hadn't taken it. It gave me horrible diahrrea, nausea and exhaustion. My whole story is on the bloodroot forum. I had "visions" when I first started taking it, and that is how I became aware that parasites were causing my illness.
I read everything I could find out about it, including the book Cancer Salves, talked to people who used it, and decided that the only thing I had to lose by not taking it, was my life. I know "they say" it's toxic. But I was told that it only makes you feel sick if your system is toxic. I trusted that information and decided to try it. IMHO it's not the bloodroot that's toxic. It's people who are toxic. The cleaner my system gets, the more of it I can take without feeling ill. I took it for a year, without taking a break. Then I stopped for three months. I had no withdrawal symptoms, but the coughing eventually started to come back. When it did, I went back on it for a few months. Now I only use it for a few days around the full moon each month, as that is when the lung parasites start stinging and waking me up.
Seems to me the reason bloodroot makes people feel sick, is because it is killing parasites and stimulating the body to release the toxins. You definitely have to be careful not to take too much of it, as the body can only handle clearing out so many toxins at once. The recommended dose is 1-2 teaspoons in a glass of juice. I was told there are people who can take that amount without getting sick, because their systems are clean. I chose to believe that information without seeing it with my own eyes. The person who told me, had no reason to lie. A sixteenth of a teaspoon made me projectile vomit, so I started with a thirty second of a teaspoon. I can now take a quarter of a teaspoon without feeling ill at all, because my system is a lot cleaner today, than when I started.
I was told that you cannot OD on bloodroot because it will make you throw up. I have certainly thrown up plenty from taking it. It also affected my vision when I first started taking it. It made it difficult for me to focus. It doesn't do that to me any more.
I've learned that great big warning signs usually mean that very powerful results can be expected. I listened to my gut instincts, and cautiously tried it, because I thought it might help me. It did. But you do have to be very careful about taking it, as it will make you feel very ill, if you take too much.
